Anyone know what the gun laws are in the Ukraine? What are you allowed to own, carry, etc? Is there a shooting/gun culture like there is here in the U.S.? The WWW seems to be rather silent on this issue.

There is no any gun Law in Ukraine, just some instructions of Ministry of Internal Affairs.Citizens coud carry shotguns, gas pistols, flobert revolvers and air guns in .177calCome categories could carry less-letal wearpon (traumatic).With Best geragds

Hi Jack,Thank you for visiting our website!Firearm licenses are available in Ukraine for hunting, target shooting and collection, protection of person or property and private security. The minimum age to obtain a gun license was 21, and non-citizens, applicants with a criminal record, a history of domestic violence or mental illness could be denied possession of a firearm. Separate hunting law in Ukraine suggests a minimum age for firearm possession of 18, though this could refer to hunting under the supervision of an older, licensed gun owner.Rifled handguns (i.e. any modern pistol) are prohibited in Ukraine for civil citizens. Only few categories of weapons are allowed for hunters. Rifles and shotguns are allowed for hunting, target shooting, collection, protection of person or property and private security. There is possibility to buy air-gun or traumatic gun (the handguns that fire rubber bullets) though.A draft law «On Weapons» to regulate all firearms was introduced in 1995, but politicians in Ukraine have since failed to agree on which weapons private citizens may legally possess, and even «whether or not private ownership would increase crime or improve security». Unfortunately Ukraine has high level of corruption. If you have a lot of money or your father is Member of Parliament or a senior civil servant, you can do anything you want to. You can officially buy and own any kinds of weapons.I hope that situation will change, but today ordinary Ukrainian citizens have no access to own a rifled handguns weapon to defend myself and his families.Please keep in touch!With Best Regards,Stanislav
